Running 100 miles at full speed
The writer’s purpose was to Inspire people to become more persistent, he showed that with persistence you can achieve incredible things, such as running a 100 miles. Also he thought that his and Jayson’s experience was worth sharing and that it would be helpful to people, possibly he was trying to convince more people to run.

I learned from Brendan and Jayson that you should never give up, because if you do, you will have no chance of winning, that’s what happened when Jayson won his first wrestling match after trying for two years, even know it might seem kind of obvious, it’s a really important message that most people fail to consider. I believe the message was well put across because Bradon and Jayson were actually able to run the 100 miles and achieve their goals.

While I was watching the film, it made me feel inspired and proud of Jayson and Brendan. I wanted them to complete the race and when they did I was proud of them. I also thought his lessons where really fascinating, for example one of the lessons was “You have to keep moving”, which means you just have to commit to it, that means that it’s going to be hard, it’s going to be a struggle, but you just have to keep moving. After watching it, I was curious to see if I would have that persistence to achieve my own goals and I started to think about how easy it is to feel inspired when people achieve their goals but not do anything to achieve your own goals, such as getting the job you want.

Jayson is my favorite character, he is a nice guy that tries to pursue his dreams. He left me with the impression that you can actually achieve your goals, if you do your best. Jayson gave me that impression because he did wrestling for two years before winning a single match, that shows me that he had a lot of determination and wouldn't give up before winning. Brendon also said “Jayson is a great story telling” which is something that I consider really cool and it made me like him even more.  Jayson had to face a lot of problems during his life, he had dyslexia, his dad left him, his mom had to raise six kids, his school counselor said “University is not for people like you,” but it only made Jayson stronger.

This story reminded me of an uncle that I didn’t have the chance to know,  his name was Estana and he used to run a lot of races, mainly triathlon and I believe he was pretty good at it, from the stories that my dad tells me he got second place twice in my state (Rio grande do sul) triathlon race. I always wanted to meet him and if I actually started to run, it would probably be because of him. It also made me wonder if in the future I will have the strength to pursue my dreams and if I will ever be   The film how to run 100 miles is about two guys who decide to run a 100 miles race, they had never ran a 100 miles before and they ha to practice a lot for it. One of them is Jayson who has dyslexia and works as a motivational speaker to encourage other people to persuade their dreams and not give up. The other one is Brendon, he is a normal guy, Brendon doesn’t even like running, but he likes a challenge. While they are running they have a lot of problems to overcome and they need a lot of persistence to actually run 100 miles. able to achieve them all.
